Wood Veneer Cabinets:If your cabinets have a wood veneer—essentially a very thin layer of real hardwood over a pressed material—you will also need to sand before painting your kitchen cabinets. But before you break out the sandpaper or paint, carefully inspect the veneer for loose edges, chips, or cracks. Repair these first with wood glue before sanding the veneered surface.
Unless you are dealing with an empty room with fresh drywall, kitchen walls will need a lot of cleaning. Assume that areas above and around the stove, oven, and counters need to be cleaned with warm water and 3-sodium phosphate. Door trim usually can benefit from the TSP cleaning, too. Remove dust and cobwebs from the tops of baseboards and other trim with a vacuum and a damp cloth.Mask and Cover
Both paint and stain come in a variation of colors. Painted cabinets can be easily wiped down; while you may need to add an extra finish, such as a clear varnish, to ensure that your stained cabinets remain fresh and easy to clean.
You will have to make choices between the type, height, and amount of handles of the spout when you start your search. Many people choose the spray type pull-down connector, but you can get a side-mounted spray pipe. The height can vary from 10 to 18 inches, so it's based on your sink size to choose the proper height. Finally, hot and cold switches can always be obtained, however most pull-down faucets have only one handle.
