Let the paint dry for about two hours. Dip the paintbrush in the paint can and manually paint the areas that the roller could not reach. Avoid drips by minimally applying the paint and by re-brushing. Areas that were painted more than a few minutes ago will likely already be filming over. So, confine your re-brushing to areas that were only recently painted.Apply Additional Coats Paint colors deepen and reach their full potential by being applied in two or even three coats. At a minimum, let the paint dry for at least a couple of hours, then re-roll and re-brush the paint one more time.
Most cabinet doors still use a form of contoured design, in which frames and panels are constructed so that the cabinet faces are dimensional rather than flat. This raised panel design, such as is found in Shaker-style cabinets, gives a very traditional look. If you do not know what type of paint is already on your cabinets, then water-based latex formulas are the safest option—since oil-based paint wont adhere well over latex paint, but latex paint can bind to a surface treated with either type of paint.
