Avoid painting kitchen cabinets with an eggshell or flat finish paint. These paints are not as washable as semi-gloss or gloss finishes, and you run the risk of rubbing through your paint job the next time you need to scrub your cabinet doors.
Painting the kitchen will help bring a much-needed sparkle back to it. In some ways, painting the kitchen is an easier project than painting bedrooms or living rooms because the amount of wall space tends to be limited. Most of a kitchen is wall space is dominated by base cabinets, wall cabinets, and backsplashes. On the downside, the small area that remains to be painted usually needs extensive cleaning and prep work. For an unfurnished kitchen, use either a roller or a paint sprayer for the walls. For window and door trim, always use a brush. For a furnished kitchen, use a roller on the large expanses of wall and a brush for the little strips, such as between the backsplash and the cabinets.
It is not rare for the kitchen to be considered as the most important room in the house: after all, it is the place where you prepare everything, from sandwiches to complicated desserts for important guests. It’s also not rare for the kitchen to be the place where you eat, and you drink your coffee.
Calm, Cool and Collected
If you favor using green kitchen cabinets for drastic colors elsewhere in the space as more of a background, the response may be a celery or olive color. At the same moment, they can relax and recharge you, particularly when covered in light beige by walls or colored with black wood countertops. You can then run with a multitude of pleasant colors like golden yellow or light orange with that as your base.
